About the hub

QriTical: queer + trans research hub is an interdisciplinary centre for research, scholarship, and community-engagement at MRU that challenges cisgender and heterosexual norms from an intersectional lens by, for, and with 2SLGBTQIA+ faculty. QriTical is committed to decolonial, anti-racist, anti-oppressive engagements with queer and trans studies (broadly defined) that advances knowledge, includes students, and collaborates with community.

QriTical is housed by the Trico Changemaker Studio at Mount Royal University.

Mount Royal University is located in Treaty 7, the territory of Siksika Nation, the Piikani Nation, the Kainai Nation, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda Nation (consisting of the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney Nations), the people of the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Métis.
